The Soul Tree: Where It All Began

Every novel has a seed -- a single image or idea that refuses to be ignored. For The Guardian Of Caramien, it was the vision of an ancient tree that held the memories of the dead.

I first saw it in a dream -- not clearly, but as a feeling. A massive tree standing in silence, its roots reaching into something deeper than soil. Beneath its branches, lost souls drifted, searching for something they could not name. When I woke up, I knew I had to write it.

The Soul Tree became the beating heart of the novel. It is not just a location in the story -- it is the story. Everything revolves around what it holds, what it hides, and what it demands from those who stand beneath it.

Building this world meant asking difficult questions: What happens to a soul that fractures? Can identity survive when memory is stripped away? What does it mean to be claimed by a past you cannot remember?

These questions gave birth to Zandren, to the woman who sings his name, and to the darkness that grows alongside his strength. The Soul Tree was the beginning, but the story has taken on a life far beyond that first vision.
